8 Rules of Protecting Yourself

How to Identify Imminent Danger

Big cities became a dangerous places because of criminals and psychos. How to learn detect this persons and how to not become a victim?


1. Be alert

Pay attention to your surroundings. Look around yourself. Learn to notice danger to avoid it.

2. Do not block your senses.

When you going home late night in the dark street do not listen to music. Your hearing can save your life.

3. Detect anomalies

Observe and notice every anomaly. For example:

  • A couple or small group coming towards you, and their attention is on you, but not on each other.
  • Persons who is lurking without visible reason.
  • People whose face or gait spells out severe mental illness (for example, a normal person uses diagonal movements when walking: the left arm moves with right leg, persons with severe mental illness often walk with parallel movements, the right arm and right leg move forward.

And others.

4. Keep away from angry scenes and ugly crowds

If you are in the buildings, leave the place instantly. If you are in a big crowd, rapidly move to the edge of the crowd.

5. Hold together

Try to walk in company. The criminals attack lonely victim.

6. Hold yourself upright and show confidence

Look big, don’t show that you are afraid. Walk quick but confidently.

7. Do not provoke aggression

Be a friendly person. Do not make people aggressive.

8. Avoid dangerous places

Dark streets, uptowns and other places can be dangerous. Try to plan your way avoiding this places.
